Simpsons

Hey, here is some Simpsons with German voice overs. *Edit 1-6-2014 – Apparently Fox didn’t like this being on YouTube and it got pulled. 🙁 Not sure if it’s worth fighting it. This is probably fair use, but there are plenty of other examples of German Simpsons available: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=the+simpsons+german&sm=3

More from Salzburg

Salzburg is pretty neat.  Here are some pictures from the cemetery: The little places between the columns in this picture have little memorials in them.

Oktoberfest

Well, we got here from Salzburg last night, dropped our stuff off at the hostel and then headed out to the fest.  We wandered a bit and looked at all the rides (just looking at them is enough of a thrill for me).  Then we got a seat at a beer garden and had a […]

Salzburg

So there is a bit of an internet connection at the hostel in Salzburg, our stop on the way to Munich.  Salzburg is in Austria and I believe it was the main setting for the Sound of Music.  Anyway, it’s pretty neat.  Yesterday, we wandered around a little bit and we walked up a big […]

Kitchen Tour

Hey, so here is a tour of our kitchen.  I forgot to mention in the video that it is also really echo-y.  Also, the stove has a button that you have to push to turn it on and it also turns off by itself after a while like the hallway lights.  Enjoy:

Photos

Will’s bugging me to have him show me how to put photos in my posts.  He doesn’t think I can figure it out on my own.  Here’s a church we saw: Heehee.

English

I’ve heard a few people say that, sure, we’re going to Austria, but most Europeans speak English anyway.  There have been many times in Germany when people I’ve spoken to have switched to English upon hearing my accent.  However, since arriving in Linz, only one person has done that; it was a woman today at […]

Meeting and Stuff

Well, I went yesterday to meet with some of the teachers I’ll be working with this school year.  They seem very nice and I think this could be a lot of fun. They seem to actually want me to be more of a friend than a teacher to the students so that they feel more […]

“Dry Blogging”

So we haven’t had internet until today (Tuesday). On Saturday we did something Will calls “dry blogging.” This is where you write a blog post to be posted at a later date. I wrote this on Saturday and it mentions many of the same things Will talked about: So, we’re here. It is Saturday night. […]
