As you may know, we’re living in the city of Linz, Austria. We’ve done some exploring, but it occurred to me that I don’t know all that much about the city. I decided to look up some information on Wikipedia about the town. Here’s the quick rundown:
- Linz is pronounced “Lintz”
- We’re in the northern center part of Austria
- We’re only 30km (18mi) from the Czech border
- Linz has a population of 190,000 putting between Rochester and Minneapolis in terms of size. Actually, it’s close to a Rochester plus a Duluth.
- The Linz area, including suburbs, is around 271,000
- Hitler considered this his home town
So there’s your information for the day. I learned a few things too.
Interesting that Linz is a sister city to Kansas City, KS. It makes me nervous that you are that close to the Czech border -don’t go wandering around there! What is the name of the school that Mary Jo will teach at?
Oh man, I hope I get this right. Mary Jo has been trying to teach me.
It’s the Pädagogische Hochschule in Linz:
