The past few days have been spent getting a few key things done and recuperating from the traveling.
Monday we hit the city hall and turned in some paperwork. Before we an get my residency permit, we need a bank account in country with money in it, so today we went over to the bank and got an account set up. We’ll hopefully have the wire transfer done in the next few days. After that, we’ll have money, residency permits, and will basically be ready to go for the rest of the year.
Part of the walk over to the city hall was across a bridge. It was misting out pretty good and created kind of a neat effect. I can’t believe I did this, but I took my camera out (in the mist) and got a few shots.
We also did some food shopping. You know, so we’re not eating out every meal. Food is pretty much the same here. There’s no such thing as high fructose corn syrup though. That’s nice. Also, packaging is different:
Totally not toothpaste. It’s mayo. Weird, huh?
We’re probably going to have to do a big shopping trip tomorrow or Thursday. We need some other stuff that’s not available at any of the local places, so we might hit that big shopping mall next to Ikea. The rest of today, however, will be dedicated to the Internet. Catching up, blogging on the joint blog, and testing that sweet connection I mentioned earlier. We’ll also see about some words of the day I think. 😀
