I had my interview yesterday with New Prague. It went okay but not nearly as well as the interview in Thief River Falls. I’m not very optimistic; they probably interviewed at least one person who is a better match for their school than me. I figure I can have low expectations and be pleasantly surprised or have high expectations and be disappointed.
On Friday, I went to see the new Pirates movie with a lady I’ve been meeting up with, Mona. Then her husband picked us up and I called Will to have him meet us in the city center. We went to a nice beer garden. The movie was okay.
The next night, we were invited to Mr. G’s house. He’s the main English teacher I work with at the teacher training college. Two other English teachers from a different school were also invited. The food they made was really good. Mr. G’s girlfriend is from Spain, so it was a lot of Spanish fare. We talked about politics and our different cultures.
And he just kept filling our glasses. It was a good time.
During the course of the conversation, we learned from a Spanish English teacher that the Spanish word for “identical twins” is the same word as used for “cuff links”.
Non-identical twins have their own word.
