Will and I went down to Mankato today to look at an apartment. We’ve been having a heck of a time finding a two bedroom; probably due to it being a college town and September coming up. Anyway, it’s a great location for us. The high school is walkable for me and Will might do some work from home. That’s why we wanted a two bedroom, so we would have some dedicated workspace.
But it’s not quite ideal because we can only move in at the end of August and I need to be there already in the middle for some orientation and workshops. We’re going to have to stay in a hotel room for about two weeks. I think the expense will be worth being able to snap up an apartment that’s so close by. I hope it’s worth it. Nearly every other professionally managed apartment building in town is full, so we didn’t want to risk not being able to find one at all. There are other housing possibilities, but we both have some experiences with buildings that are not professionally managed and we’d rather avoid that.
I think some hotels give a small discount for extended stays.
